This is an example of the HVMS process for helping a production obtain a usable workflow. The same top-down approach can scale from a small project that needs one stubborn bottleneck fixed to a larger build involving editorial, storage, cloud services, vendors, and production leadership.

Executive & Production Discovery
- Meet with executive, production, editorial, and technical leadership to understand needs, concerns, budget, deadlines, and current limitations.
- Translate production goals into technical requirements across ingest, edit, storage, MAM, archive, delivery, and user access.
- Identify user concerns early, from camera formats and TV feeds to how media lands in the MAM system and reaches producers or editors.

Architecture & Workflow Design
- Design a practical balance between future-proofing and real-world budget constraints.
- Determine what should stay on prem, what belongs in SaaS or cloud services, and whether the production should be on prem, hybrid, or fully cloud-based.
- Establish a house codec so the workflow stays stable from ingest through edit, approval, export, and delivery.
- Produce alternate workflows when traditional systems need to change, such as EditShare to Avid NEXIS, QNAP to Synology, or EditShare Flow to Avid Production Management.

Technical Validation & Vendor Coordination
- Review inventory, aging servers, storage, networking, hardware, software, and vendor support status for new or existing productions.
- Test new technology, document ports, permissions, relay requirements, security rules, and handoff details for IT teams.
- Bridge gaps with vendor feature requests, scripting, automation, and workflow adjustments that reduce friction for end users.

Production Deployment & Training
- Work with onsite technical teams to configure systems that are stable, documented, vendor-supported, and ready for production use.
- Integrate newsroom and realtime tools such as iNEWS, MOS gateways, K2, EVS, Ross, Chyron, and related systems when the workflow requires them.
- Implement and train teams on capture scheduling, ingest operations, transcoding, media movement, and daily support workflows.

Post Production Optimization
- Design workflows that get footage to producers and editors quickly, including rundown-driven environments using iNEWS, Rundown Creator, and similar tools.
- Match the software to the job: Media Composer, Premiere, Resolve, EDIUS, Pro Tools, Cubase, or other systems based on speed, collaboration, and delivery needs.
- Use automation and AI-assisted scripting to remove redundant tasks and reduce the time between capture, codec conversion, producer access, edit, approval, and export.
- Keep the central question in focus: how fast does the team need to move from idea, to edit, to approval, to delivery?
